Don't get me wrong. I love open source. I love it to pieces. But there is a dark side.
I was using this Emacs plugin to handle my website. It's great, it uses a native emacs text mode and generates a website for you. I made a template for it and customized the crap out of it and everything. Then there was an Emacs upgrade, which broke the plugin and then the original author was AWOL ... I was in a lurch.
After a long but ultimately unsuccessful attempt at finding and fixing the problem I had to give up.
So I switched software. The new software does the same basic thing (native text mode → website) but is a little easier to understand. It doesn't quite do what I want. Yet.
And the good news is, the author is active and accepting pull requests. Horray!
